Extra Credit is a new weekly(ish) feature where I give a quick shout-out to bookish things I love.
This week, I’m giving Extra Credit to BlogLovin’!
(I’m also giving myself bonus points for my sassy slap-dash graphic there. Yes, I do know how to do fonts. And colors. And slap-dashery. Be impressed.)
BLOGLOVIN’! Like, I knew this was a thing, but I had not really felt the need to enter the BlogLovin’ world. Living in the WordPress.com universe, I mostly used my email and the WordPress reader to keep up with blogs. My switch to Book Host, though, has changed all of that. I’ve lost a lot of my regular commenters and interaction with the WordPress community, which I expected.
BlogLovin’ lets me follow all the blogs in one reader. I had readers, like Google Reader and Feedly, that I’ve used pretty regularly. But BlogLovin’ has a community aspect that I really enjoy. It seems to be the main place where book bloggers can follow each other and keep up with the community. And one click takes me directly to the blog post so I can leave a comment and give site traffic in the process (something RSS readers don’t necessarily do). Basically, BlogLovin’ is helping me feel more connected to book bloggers, and that’s never a bad thing.
Shameless plug time! I can’t talk about Bloglovin’ without adding a follow button.
How do you follow the blogs you read regularly?
